Square Chapel works in partnership with Orange Box young people’s centre and verd de gris Ltd to deliver ‘Creative Communities (Stronger Together)’ – an exciting community outreach programme. This is supported with funding from the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund.

Square Circle offers weaving, painting and calligraphy classes for the over 50’s, led by experienced, professional artists/tutors. These regular workshops are a great way to meet new people whilst learning skills and getting creative.  All materials and refreshments are included in the admission price.  The classes are extremely popular – please contact us to join the waiting list.

Join us for our monthly Afternoon Dance in our wonderfully atmospheric auditorium, with a mix of ballroom and sequence dancing for the over 50’s.  Our professional dance tutor, Andrea, is on hand to support the class – it’s a wonderfully friendly and fun group and a great way to meet new people.

A non-academic, fun creative writing class for the over 50’s. Led by professional poets and tutors, Winston Plowes and Keith Hutson, these classes are a great way to develop skills and meet new people. Creative writing is extremely popular – please contact us to join the waiting list.

Our youth theatre classes introduce children to the magic of theatre in our professional theatre spaces, focussing on building confidence and social interaction whilst developing skills in these fun and creative sessions.  Youth Theatre is extremely popular and the 8-12 yrs group is currently full – please contact us to join the waiting list.  Places are available in the 5-7yrs group for the spring term – please contact us to find out more.

These fantastic visual arts classes are for young people aged 11 – 16yrs who want to develop their skills in painting, drawing,  printmaking, textiles, 3-D work and more. Led by our highly experienced professional artist/tutor, these sessions are a great for young people studying art as an option at school or for those who do it just for fun! The classes are also a great way to meet like minded people in a creative relaxed environment.

Our Rock School is for young people aged 11 – 16yrs and takes place in the state-of-the-art rehearsal rooms at Orange Box young people’s centre.  Suitable for beginners and those with some experience, acoustic strummers and all out rockers, it’s a great place to learn to play your instrument better, meet other musicians, form a band, write songs. Opportunities to rehearse, collaborate, perform and record are all included in this popular project.
