Once upon a time there was a speedy Hare who would never stop talking about how fast he could run.  Sick of being teased for his slowness, Tortoise challenged him to a race.  No one thought he could win, but life is full of surprises!

Northern Ballet’s Tortoise and the Hare races on to the big screen as part of its fantastic season of interactive ballets created especially for children, narrated by TV’s Anita Rani.  With playful characters and spellbinding music, this accessible ballet is the perfect way to introduce children to the magic of dance, music and storytelling.

This film has been programmed for schools as part of Square Chapel’s Open Door schools outreach programme, aiming to make the arts more accessible to children in Calderdale.  Open Door is supported with a grant from the Andrew LLoyd Webber Foundation.
