At the forefront of contemporary circus for over 20 years, and having performed in 40 counties, Gandini Juggling bring their award-winning sensation SMASHED to Square Chapel. A mesmerising mix of circus and theatre, inspired by the work of Pian Bausch, this is a rare opportunity to catch this global SMASH-hit.

Created in 1992 by Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkala, the company continues to be at the vanguard of contemporary circus, reinventing and reinvigorating juggling, celebrating this art in all its facets. Having performed over 4,000 shows in 40 countries, the Gandinis collaborate with many of the world’s leading artists. This ferociously prolific company is constantly creating new pieces ranging from radically avant-garde juggling to family friendly entertainment.

Smashed was originally commissioned as a short outdoor piece for the Watch This Space Festival at the National Theatre in 2010. Additional funding for this rework was received from the Arts Council England and La Brèche Centre for the Circus Arts to create the theatre version touring today.
