Return of the Iron Man (drawing workshops for schools)
Tue 05 Nov
Times: 10.30am and 1.30pm at Square Chapel Arts Centre
Tickets: Schools tickets £3, teachers are free / All other tickets £5 , approx running time: 60 minutes, without interval
Come and join Award-Winning children’s author and illustrator, Chris Mould, in these fun and informative workshops to celebrate the launch of his latest book, a new illustrated edition of Ted Hughes’ The Iron Man.
Yorkshire-born Chris has many titles under his belt, including Pocket Pirates and his collaborations, as an illustrator, with Matt Haig, like The Truth Pixie.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ted Hughes’ classic story, Chris’ new, beautifully illustrated book aims to attract a whole new audience of children (and adults) to this much loved text.
In these workshops, Chris will introduce his book, teach children how to draw some of the characters and talk about his creative process – where does he start and how does he go about creating such an impressive book? How do children go about becoming artists or illustrators themselves? He will answer these questions and more in these unique workshops.
Please note: capacity is limited and early booking is recommended. Children are asked to bring a book to draw in and a pencil.
These workshops have been programmed for schools as part of our Open Door schools project, supported with a grant from the Andrew LLoyd Webber Foundation, aiming to make theatre visits more accessible to children in Calderdale. Some public tickets may be available (please contact us to check availability).
