Peggy Seeger “First Time Ever” Tour

Wed 29 Nov, 8:00pm at Red Brick Auditorium

Tickets: £18 , approx running time: 1hr 50mins

Peggy Seeger’s long-awaited memoir, ‘First Time Ever’ is named for the classic love song that her husband (Ewan MacColl) wrote for her. Peggy combines performances of the songs that have meant the most to her with extracts from the book. Expect anecdotes from her long and remarkable career delivered with her trademark wry humour together with memorable music performances from her and sons Calum and Neill MacColl. This is a very special show, presenting a fascinating and highly entertaining insight into the remarkable life of one of our best loved ‘Queens of Folk’.

“This sparky woman has done so much, lived so much, crammed so much into her life. Peggy Seeger is worth getting amazed about. She is litmus test for conformity, non-conformity and complications.” fRoots

“Peggy Seeger has made a great contribution not just to music but to feminism and to political activism. She’s a woman of the left and dear to my heart. She’s my heroine.” Dame Helena Kennedy QC

“There’s still plenty of the mischievous reprobate – not to mention the untamed rebel – about her.” The Guardian
