Celebrating the extra in the ordinary and the things that connect us.

Here at Square Chapel, we believe in magic; the magic that is created when people, ideas, creativity, expression, conversation and stories come together. We believe that groups of people, however small, can change the world for the better, and they’re the only thing that ever will.

LOOK CLOSER is a micro-festival of euphoric new work and cross-artform practice that shakes up conventions and reimagines the spaces and platforms for how we talk about the world around us. Featuring gig-theatre, contemporary performance, exhibitions, installations, one-to-one interactive experiences, panel discussions and film, we invite you to celebrate the extra in the ordinary and to LOOK CLOSER at the people we meet and the stories that make us human – complete with a banging playlist, a touch of astrophysics and a dance marathon.

Explore our beautiful building with a range of free and ticketed events popping up at times and places you wouldn’t always find them, that might just make you look at the world a little more closely.

You are beautiful in your sadness but your light could burn through diamonds when you’re happy.

I am an artist and I am a woman. I make lots of things. I create all the time. I will create out of whatever I can. Mostly I write, poetry and performance writing. I sing. I act. I curate and collaborate.

xplore a world of poetry, photography and type writing by local artist Kate Radford, with rolling performances of her vocal and loop pedal work, visual works for sale and an opportunity to type your own messages of love and rage to take home with you.
