THE LIFE OF QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER 1900-2002

Join local historian David Glover as he discusses the Queen Mother. Born into the aristocracy, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon did not expect to live a public life, but her pretty face caught the eye of Prince Albert, Duke of York, and romance followed. In 1936 he became King George VI, and she the Queen Consort. During World War II she was dubbed by Hitler ‘The most dangerous women in Europe.’  Latterly, a national mother-figure.
