This 30th anniversary screening of the classic episode of Goodbyeee is about Captain Edmund Blackadder, stuck in the middle of World War I, doing his best to escape the banality of the war.

This last episode of the series features Blackadder pretending that he’s insane to avoid certain death carrying out the General’s order for the “big push”. The episode also includes the iconic slow motion scene of the troops going ‘over the top’.

Our screening features a ‘Question Time’ style panel discussion about the episode, it’s impact, and the truth about this period of the war, with historians and members of Halifax War Heritage Society.

Our panel guests include

David Millichope (Panel Chair)

Rob Thompson (freelance WW1 historian)

Tricia Platts (Bradford WW1 Group)

Richard Smith (Halifax Great War Heritage Society)

Rob Hamilton (Chair Halifax Great War HS)
