Shouting Out!

We are always thinking about ways we can shout about the work we’re doing here at Gig Buddies Calderdale and so when Journalism Student, Amy Blyth contacted us to see if she could help us in anyway, we jumped at the chance!

We invited Amy to our bowling social in May, where we went for a couple of games, a few drinks and an unprecedented amount of competition!

Who say’s it’s only about taking part?

The Social

Our social events are a hugely important part of what we do here in Calderdale. They allow people who have recently signed up as volunteers or participants, to come along to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere, in a venue or at an event that everyone has chosen and that is part of mainstream society.

Skip Rap: A hip hop tale of strife and struggle!
One of our social events earlier this year.

So What’s it all about then?

We think that our volunteers and participants are the best people to shout about how great a project Gig Buddies is.

We wanted to give you an insight to one of our socials and to hear about the ways in which being a part of something social can change lives.

So there you have it, this is Gig Buddies!

It’s about trying new things, meeting new people, getting out and most importantly having fun!
