On October 29th Square Chapel took part in the world’s BIGGEST drawing festival (The Big Draw) with an array of exciting and fun workshops and activities. Over 160 people took part in hands-on activities suitable for the whole family.

Light Painting was a popular activity, where people were able to use a long exposure camera in a dark room to create pictures using torch light. The results were fantastic!

Another popular activity (especially with the children) was creating Doodlebots. These homemade robots are great fun to make, and use a small electric circuit and vibration to produce their own doodles – loads of fun. Plus we had visual artist Musarat Raza with us creating Halloween themed masks.

It was a great day and we had some lovely feedback from those who took part.

If you’d like to try Light Painting or have a go at making your own Doodlebot yourself you can find instructions at www.instructables.com

If you’re interested in seeing what else you and your family can take part in together at Square Chapel then why not check out our Family Festive programme.
