Full Time Bar Assistant

37.5 hours per week, varied shift patterns to include evenings and weekends, and other cover as required.

Salary:  £16,867.50p per annum.  This is a permanent position.

Essential skills and experience required including:

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Experience of working behind a busy bar

A sound knowledge of cask and keg beers

Cash handling and taking food orders

Barista trained (desirable)

Food service and waiting on skills and experience

A positive attitude and an interest in arts and culture

Assistant Chef (Full Time)

Salary £20,241.97 per annum

Full time (37.5 hours pw), flexible shift pattern (currently 3 days on and 4 days off) which will involve evenings, weekends and  some holiday cover.

Our all day café/bar is about serving simple, fast, healthy dishes and creating a delightful food sharing experience to make for a welcoming environment for theatre and film goers, or for those who just wish to meet and eat with friends and family.

This role will play a key role in supporting the Chef and generating ideas for the entire food offer within our café bar. It’s a chance to make your mark in an environment that attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Technician (Full Time)

37.5 hours per week, permanent

Salary scale: £20,000 to £22,000 per annum (subject to experience)

Working closely with the Head of Technical and Operations, and other members of the Square Chapel staff team, this role involves being one of the key personnel to deliver the front line technical and operational requirements of Square Chapel’s artistic programme and building operation.

We are looking for a suitably experienced technician with the right attitude and bags of enthusiasm for arts and culture, who will give Square Chapel’s visitors and users a professional and positive experience with the highest technical standards.

Assistant House Manager

40 hours per week, permanent

Salary scale: £23,000 per annum, permanent

This role involves regular evening and weekend working and a willingness to cover shifts at last minute if required, for which time off in lieu will be given.

We are looking for an experienced individual to work with the Senior House Manager to ensure the successful delivery of Square Chapel’s Front of House service to performing artists and hirers, audiences and visitors our venue.

Freelance Workshop Artist

3 hours per week, January to April 2019
Daily Fee: £120 3 hour session inc 1 hour preparation

We are looking for Freelance Work shop Artists with experience in dance, drama, music or theatre to lead sessions as part of the new ‘Step Up’ programme a project funded by BBC ‘Children in Need’.

‘Step Up’ is a new programme for children and young people aged 15-24 with a learning disability/autism. They will take part in arts themed sessions which will be designed to increase their confidence and socialise with new people.
In addition to the weekly sessions we will support regular trips to events locally. This is also designed to complement and provide new entry routes into the Gig Buddies Calderdale project, the link for which can be found below.

The role involves:
The planning and delivery of inclusive sessions that are accessible to young people with a range of additional needs that will explore routes into the arts.
Direct any support workers in the sessions to ensure that support is give to the young people who need this.
Facilitation of a reflective process as part of the sessions to measure progress.

The role will be subject to DBS checks.
