at The Halifax Academy High School
Tickets ↓

Wed 18 Jan, 1:00pm
Approx Running Time: 2hrs
Tickets: Free

This promises to be an amazing and uplifting event, a celebration of the work delivered by Square Chapel’s outreach partners, verd de gris Ltd, over the past year.  Using the theme “Our Music Sets Us Free”, verd de gris has worked with diverse groups of people that make up Calderdale’s rich cultural mix, including local Roma, children from local primary schools, older people living with Parkinson’s, students from Calderdale College and students from Sowerby Bridge High School.

On the 18th January, all the different groups will come together for an unique event that showcases what music means to these amazing people and how essential it is to their cultural identity and sense of well-being.  There will be live music, poetry, dance and film…and plenty of enthusiasm and passion!

Join verd de gris for a magical performance event at Halifax Academy High School, Gibbet Street, Halifax, HX2 0BA.  Tickets are free but booking is advised as places are limited

Our Music Sets Us Free represents the second year of a three-year programme developed and delivered by verd de gris  – it is part of Creative Communities, a project led by Square Chapel in partnership with verd de gris and Orange Box young  people’s centre.  Creative Communities is supported with a grant from the National Lottery through The Big Lottery Fund.
