Here at Square Chapel Arts Centre , we believe in magic; the magic that is created when people, ideas, creativity, expression, conversation and stories come together. We believe that groups of people, however small, can change the world for the better, and they’re the only thing that ever will.
We believe that arts, culture and creativity play a positive and critical role in enriching and enhancing the quality of life for people of all kinds and all ages. We’re interested in bringing people together and exploring what makes us feel open hearted and alive.
Square Chapel is a space that is safe and exciting, welcoming and experimental and facilitates the creation of inspiring and empowering opportunities for the people of West Yorkshire and beyond to engage with quality art through shared experiences owned by artists and audiences.
Square Chapel Arts Centre is a cultural community, a home for the curious and adventurous; the cautious and the exuberant in good times and bad times. A congregation of groups and individuals, friends, volunteers, dedicated audiences and casual attenders sharing the best in performance, art, film, food and drink.
We’re always on the look out for new and exciting shows to host here at Square Chapel, if you think you have what we’re after then drop us a line via email@example.com
Due to the large number of enquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to all emails. If you have not been contacted by us within 12 weeks of submitting your request, please assume that your show has not been selected for our future programme of events.
Square Route is Square Chapel’s talent development programme, providing opportunities and support for artists, companies and creatives at various stages of their career, based in West Yorkshire and beyond. The programme is broken up into four strands: Connect, Present, Evolve and Create; with the aim to provide our creative community with the networks, platforms, residency and commissioning opportunities that are needed to grow a thriving cultural ecology for Halifax.
Over the last twelve months, we’ve been talking and listening to artists, companies and creatives from all over the country and internationally, at various stages of development, to find out what they really need from their arts centres. We’ve learnt a lot and we plan to learn more. So, we want to hear from you – whether you’re an artist, performer, writer, director, producer, audience member, educational institution, business, fellow arts organisation or simply someone with a passion for making things happen. To express your interest in becoming part of the network or supporting this initiative in any way, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Let’s begin the conversation.
