Cultural Destinations Project Officer

3 days per week, fixed term to October 2016
Salary: £18,000 to £20,000 p.a. pro rata, subject to experience

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking scheme supporting the cultural sector in Calderdale to develop, collaborate and drive more visitors to the borough. 

If you like a challenge, and have a passion for arts and culture, we would welcome your application. An interest in collaboration, project work and innovation would also be beneficial, whilst strong administration, communication and organisational skills are essential.

Job Opportunity at Victoria Theatre

Stage Manager (Victoria Theatre) – Post Ref: CM115
Salary: Scale 5, SCP22 – 25, £19,817 – £21,734 per annum
37 hours per week, fixed term for 12 months

The Victoria Theatre is looking to recruit an experienced Stage Manager.  The post holder will be responsible for planning and managing the day to day work of the technical department. To plan, oversee and carry out the technical preparation of the Theatre and associated venues for various shows and events.

Previous experience of working in technical theatre including supervising other staff is essential as the post holder will be required to provide clear and effective advice and leadership for all in-house and visiting technicians, as well as practical experience of working in a receiving theatre, equipped with counterweight flying facilities.

The post involves a significant amount of manual handling and requires regular unsociable working hours including evenings weekends and bank holidays.

Calderdale Cultural Destinations Consortium

is looking to appoint an experienced evaluator (or team of evaluators) to undertake a two stage benchmarking and assessment commission for the Calderdale Cultural Destinations project .  The project runs from September 2014 – November 2016 and the successful applicant will undertake set pieces of work within the 2.5 year project. Scheduling for deliverables and reporting will be agreed once the successful applicant is contracted.

The broad aim of this work is to develop a model for measuring project success across all consortium members (12 different cultural venues / organisations / events), and subsequently to put the model into practice in order to produce an economic impact assessment at the end of the project.

Applicants may choose to undertake the whole work directly through their own resources, or alternatively may choose to contract and manage other specialists to undertake elements of the required work. However the successful applicant will remain entirely responsible for coordination and delivery of the complete work.
