Our outreach provision includes people from the following groups:
Children and families
Through targeted projects and an annual family festival, we offer opportunities in drama, music, visual arts and much more. You can benefit from community arts projects in the following ways:
Make yourself heard
Make new friends
Learn new skills
Gain new experiences
Take part in performances and exhibitions
Square Chapel’s outreach programme began in 2001 supported with a 5-year grant from the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB6) through Action Halifax. As it developed and changed it received additional support from Urban II, Arts Council, Big Lottery Fund, Esmee Fairbairn and a variety of smaller Trusts and Foundations. From 2011 – 2014 it has been supported with a grant from the National Lottery’s Reaching Communities programme. A long-running music project called Write to Record is currently supported with a grant from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation.
Square Chapel is a partner in Halifax Festival, a week-long annual family festival taking place in the summer. It is run in partnership with Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, Halifax Minster and is supported by Calderdale Council. The Halifax Festival started life as The July Project – a children and young people’s festival that ran successfully for three years and was sponsored by HBOS.
