Friends of Square Chapel

The Friends of Square Chapel have been thriving since 1990 and have played a crucial part in the restoration and development of the centre and its garden.  As a registered charity Square Chapel still depends upon the support of its Friends to help it to continue to flourish and offer the best in theatre, music, dance, family shows, literature, the Halifax Festival, workshops, community events for everyone.

The group organises fundraising concerts, a Grand Christmas Raffle and exclusive social events which are planned to appeal to all ages and tastes.  The Friends Committee meets quarterly to discuss recent successes and future events and there is an AGM in June.  Even if you are unable to give any time to the Friends, please still join, as your subscription itself is a valued form of support.  Besides making new friends and having the reward of helping Square Chapel succeed, there are lots of other benefits:

• Annual Membership Card which affords privileges, discounts and rewards with selected local businesses
• Free tea or coffee at performances you’re attending (on showing your Membership Card)
• 10% off tickets for many performances
• Ticket exchange or ticket credits for exchanged returned tickets without paying an administration fee
• Invites to Friends events, including special social events and performances, fundraising events, theatre trips and dances
• From 2011, Friends will get advance copy of each season’s brochure and priority booking of tickets at our Box Office / by phone

• First ticket free (one per membership year per member)
• Included on Friends and Supporters roll of honour in the foyer (please let us know if you do not wish to be included within this display)
• Copy of Jessica Sutcliffe’s book ‘Square Chapel, Halifax - the History and Architecture'

• Option to have your copy of Jessica Sutcliffe’s book signed by author

Friends membership costs are as follows:
Friends (per year)
£20 individual
£30 two people at same address
£40 three or more people at the same address (family)
£15 unemployed / full time student / over 65 rate

Great Friends (per year)
£50 individual
£75 two people at same address
£100 three or more people at the same address (family)

Life-long Friends (one-off fee)
£750 individual / £1125 two people at the same address.
