People's Park TV

The People's Park Festival is an annual event which celebrates the diverse cultures living in our community and promotes cultural harmony. Lively, colourful and great fun, it offers something for all the family including dance, music and children's activities. This year Square Chapel's Inclusive Arts project has teamed up with festival organisers to create People's Park TV - a behind the scenes video documenting all the hard work which goes into giving us this festival.

The video is being filmed entirely by young people from youth clubs and centres including the Calder Crew, based in Illingworth and Himmat, based on Hanson Lane in Halifax. They have been learning to use video cameras and other equipment, and have interviewed Festival organisers. Most filming took place during the Festival itself on Sunday 15th August, and the film will be edited during October/November 2004.

There will be a premiere film screening on Sunday 21st November at 7.30pm. This FREE event includes food, courtesy of the West Central Halifax Healthy Living Partnership. It is open to the public and suitable for all the family, so come along and lend your support!
